Born Free ..the day after
It will take a couple days to absorb what happened but we need to say thank you to VANS...not only did they support us from the start they came out in force with the party on wheels and killed it. They gave out free stuff all day, cooked for thousands for free and are just the nicest most generous, caring people to work with...it is absolutely true! Al you are a machine!!! Pete you do it at the highest level and we are so grateful for everything you did.I am sure that everyone who was at the show from the other sponsors to the vendors and the spectators will agree that you guys are true professionals and very special people.

Just a couple things to remember:: No cars are allowed in the show. This is a vintage bike event and we are not set up to have cars...even if its old it will not be allowed to park on the show grounds. You can drive it there but will need to park it in the car parking areas. The show opens at (( 10 am )) for everyone except the vendors and the invited builders. We have sent all of you emails about the set up days and times. If you did not get something please contact us asap. We will have Santiago road and the turn off for Oak Canyon clearly marked with big yellow signs ..so look for them. We have a limited number of Posters/w tickets left so get some as soon as you get inside. We are going to do awards about 3:30 and the drawing right after. any questions please email me @ mike@bornfreeshow.com or grant@bornfreeshow.com

Lowbrow's Peanut Tank

Tyler from Lowbrow Customs is giving us a couple of his new Wassell Style peanut tanks for our prize packages.Check them out here on his site and come to Born Free and win one . http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1626
Oak Canyon GPS or Google 2 Addresses
The Event site is Oak Canyon or Oak Canyo Ranch if you GPS or Google map it. Just remember it's on the road just south of Irvine Lake right off Santiago Canyon.. They list it with two addresses the first is 5305 Blue Haul Diamond Rd. or 5305 Santiago Canyon Rd....(( same place)) Do not turn into Irvine Lake they have another event the same day. Look for signs saying " OAK CANYON " we also will post Born Free signs on Santiago Canyon so look for them. The Oak Canyon park is all the way at the end of the road. See U Saturday.

All Olde Bikes Are Welcome
We realize that some of you just found out about the show and do not understand what it's about or how we do it...If you want to be in the show all you need to do is just bring out your old bike and park in the show area...That's it ! If you are on a newer bike or not interested in being in the "show" you can park it in the general bike parking..and yes it is still on the show grounds. We have 19 awards to give out and everyone that is in the show bike area is eligible to win a trophy. We have every category covered..so if you are on a JD or 70 Husky we have something for you.Clean out your carbs ,throw in some gas and be here this Saturday!

Camping and Hotels

By now I hope everyone has made their arrangements but if you have not :: O'Neil regional park is where most are camping...and yes... they (( do not )) allow alcohol..that's right no Booze! So if you can't sleep without it you should stay at a hotel. Cooks Corner bar and grill is only a short ride away from the campsite if you do camp so you can cruise down to Cooks & get a drink there...The food is good too!
Kickstands & Born Free

The show is mainly on grass so if you have a questionable kickstand or special needs parking your bike you might want to pack something to keep in in place...piece of wood, cardboard, carpet square ..something?? The grass should be hard enough to handle any bike....we are just giving everyone a heads up if you need it. We are trying to figure out something to have on hand to help..if you have any suggestions let us know.

Show Policy

Please Read:: As per the agreement with the event site owner and Law Enforcement the Born Free show will be a " No Colors " event. We completely respect every one's right to do what they want in this world and live free.... but when a show grows to this size and it's held at an event site such as this we must abide by the rules outlined in the contract. We hope everyone understands why we have to do this and we really appreciate your support on this matter. We want everyone to come out and enjoy these old bikes and have a great time.

Show Info ( Read ) 13 Days to Showtime

We have been getting some emails about the layout of the show. Here are just a few things to Know. Number One:: No cars..no cars period on the show grounds. This is a bike only show.Cars and Trucks will park in the parking areas outside of the show. Next shade & seating:: there are plenty of picnic tables, seating area's and trees to rest under so you do not need to worry about that.Lastly Food & Drinks :We will have several food trucks at the show..from the best sliders in the town to Bacon Mania.... pulled pork to Hot Dog on a Stick ...Shave Ice & Desert's.The Beer trailer will be there to quench your thirst. The event site handles all Beer sales..sorry no free beer this year. The liability is too great and the agreement/contract for the site does not allow it.We are getting close ..less than 2 weeks away and we are working around the clock to make this happen...Remember a 1946 Knucklehead could be yours in 13 days!!

Law Enforcement and Born Free
I met with the local Law Enforcement agency that will be handling our event yesterday and we are pleased with the outcome.Public safety is the number one concern for all and we are expecting a large number of bikes & people so we need to have several officers as well as private security there to help with the crowd control & event management. We are all adults and do not need to be told what to do or how to act but I can tell you that they made it very clear to me...Zero Tolerance!! I made it clear to them as well..this show is about the love old motorcycles and about friends and family having a good time in a peaceful friendly place. This year the show has grown quite a bit but we want to keep it fun and friendly just as in years past.We welcome all those who come out and look forward to the greatest gathering of vintage bikes in the west.If anyone has any questions or concerns about the show please feel free to email me@ mikedavis70@hotmail.com or mike@bornfreeshow.com

Camping Option

From what we have heard most campers are staying at the O'Neil Regional park which is about a mile from Cooks corner ( Dice Party spot) and 8 miles up the canyon from the Born Free location ( Oak Canyon Ranch).... There is also Canyon RV Park( 91 freeway in Anaheim) for those coming from the east. It's probably less than 10 miles away ( quick ride up the toll road)and offer group sites and some neat old cabins. Here is the website if you are interested http://www.canyonrvpark.com/
